About Us

We are a group of Christians who simply seek to follow the teachings of the Bible and the Lord Jesus. We enjoy meeting together to encourage one another in our Christian lives and want to share our faith with others. We come from all walks of life and have a wide spectrum of ages.

The Leaders

John Knight

JohnKJohn, who was born in Guildford, became a Christian at the age of 7 and was baptised when he was 14. He became a leader at Manor Road Evangelical Church in 1977 and has been the church secretary since then. He is married to Terri, who is also a Guildfordian. Their three children, who were educated locally, are all married.

John has taught in Surrey since 1969. He is currently working part-time, as a Mathematics mentor in the local comprehensive school. He is also Terri’s assistant as she child-minds three days a week. During the last few years he has joined the team who run the ‘Little Sunbeams’ Parent & Toddler Group.

John Elliott

JohnEJohn moved to Guildford from Essex in 2000 to study Microbiology at the University of Surrey. He completed his degree and now works as a Lab Technician for the University’s Oncology group. He is into technology, TV/movies, and occasionally sports!!

He became a Christian at a young age after being taught about Jesus at home and church. As a teenager he began to understand more about God and wanted to live for him. After joining MREC at 18 he had many opportunities to serve in the church and now is part of the youth group team. John became a deacon in 2005.

Pam Fom

PamfomPam moved to Guildford from Nigeria in 2012 to study a PhD in Structural Engineering at the University of Surrey. He is married to Prisca and they are blessed with three children. Pam believes that every Christian should carry his family along (Acts 10:1-2).

Pam became a Christian on March 5th 1989, having understood clearly from the Word that he must not allow the excitement of being young deceive him to forget his Creator in the days of his youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1-2). That same year he got baptised. He has been fully involved in Christian Ministry for over 20 years and is passionate about global evangelism that is deeply rooted in prayer. He became a deacon at Manor Road Evangelical Church in 2014.
